We are a start-up gourmet snack (Indian-Spiced Popcorn) company looking for motivated people who share our passion for growing our small, local business into the popcorn empire it deserves to be!

About Masala Pop
Masala Pop (www.eatmasalapop.com) is a tasty, Indian-spiced popcorn snack mix handcrafted in Portland, Oregon. We start with air-popped, organic, non-GMO popcorn and add a unique blend of Indian spices and tasty tidbits like crunchy papadum (Indian lentil chips). The result is an all-natural, gluten-free, fiber-rich, scrumptious snack that is highly addictive — in a good way!

The role of Kitchen Kernel;
- Air popping popcorn, blending spices, and making sauces for all three flavors in our product line
- Maintaining, organizing and cleaning kitchen and equipment
- Labeling and packing product bags
- Packing and shipping for orders
- Tracking supplies and inventory management
- Potential assistance with demos at events or in-store samples
- Occasional customer service for client pick-up/vendor delivery

Position requirements;
- Kitchen experience preferred. Have you worked in a commercial kitchen previously? If not, do you have intermediate cooking knowledge/experience?
- Independent decision maker. Are you confident making decisions in a changing environment?
- Project manager. Are you able to see a project from start to finish, making adjustments as needed?
- Organizational skills. Can you document or create needed procedures regarding inventory, cooking, or kitchen maintenance?
- Reliable and responsible
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Schedule Needs;
- Schedule to start at 30 hours a week with potential for 40 depending upon orders
- Daytime hours preferred to allow for overlap with other employees
- Final schedule should be consistent, but specific days/hours are negotiable upon hire
- Must be flexible for special projects, large or unexpected orders.

$9-$11 hourly, DOE
